What's In A Kit?

There are choices to guide you through creating your perfect invitation kit, ensuring everything you choose will match and nothing is forgotten.

All the designs are easy to assemble and do not involve messy glueing or intricate cutting; many designs do not even require bow tying, (see ‘I can’t tie a bow, what design do you recommend?’) below.

The paper is home inkjet printer friendly and any pen friendly.  Additional pieces of paper are included for practicing prinitng. There is also a resource page on the site with helpful tips and invitation etiquette advice.

If you’d like it really easy, you can add on printing services from £0.50 – we’ll do the type setting printing and trimming of the printed sheets to size, leaving you with the just the fun bits to do – putting it all together!

What's In A Kit?

  • You will need a good pair of scissors for ribbon trimming
  • A printer to print your inserts, (however it is also traditional to hand-write invitations if you prefer not to print them).

It is advisable to use

  • A cutting/self healing non-slip mat to work on
  • A small paper trimmer or a craft knife and metal rule available inexpensively at office supply or craft shops to cut the printing paper in half – (this is the only trimming you will need to do – two invitation inserts are printed per piece of paper as the paper needs to be long enough to feed through a printer properly).
  • If you are adding diamante embellishments you will need a small hole punch, (available at craft shops, see resources page).

You will also need some enthusiasm and a little practice to start but you’ll get the hang of it quickly. You may like to invite friends and family to help - throw a production line party!

We recommend having a sample of your chosen invitation to ensure that the colours and design are exactly as you expected before you order, since it can be difficult to judge colours accurately on computer screens.

We know how important the ‘feel’ of an invitation is and we’re so convinced that you’ll be impressed by the quality of our stationery that we will send a sample to you at no charge. This will include alternative ribbon/sash swatches where applicable. Subsequent samples requested are at a cost of £3.00 each.

To order a sample, from the Invitation Kits page, click on the invitation you would like to see and a pop-up box appears, click on ‘order sample’ and it will be added to your shopping basket. Go to ‘check-out’ when you are ready to fill in your delivery details etc.

As we are part of the same company, you can mix and match between BrideMade’s do-it-yourself range and the couture service offered by Borrowed Blue Press.

So, for example, you can make your own invitations and thank you cards but Borrowed Blue Press can make and calligraph your place cards or create a table plan for you.

With combined choice of BrideMade and Borrowed Blue Press you can have your cake, and eat it too!
